この世界は、禍々しいものを含んだまま、平然と在る。 理不尽と死は、道端に転がっていて、いつそれらに噛まれるかしれぬ。

豪奢で清潔なホテルの客室であっても、白い壁の向こうから、微かな叫び声が絶えず漏れ 聞こえるのである。

中也が慄いた、曇天の黒い旗。 音もなく、高く、はためくばかりで、手繰り下すことのかなわぬ黒い旗。

私はその徴を残したいと、写真をこれまで続けてきたと思う。

古典技法は、撮影された被写体から、何かを削ぎ落とし、隠し、写真のもつ明瞭さや具象 性を溶き流した。

その過程で、印画紙に留まったものが、「曇天」の残像である。

Donten ー gloomy sky This world seems calm and ordinary, but it holds a viciousness inside of it. Absurdity and death lye on the street side, waiting to bite us unexpectedly. Although neat and luxurious, you can hear subtle screams coming through the white walls of the hotel room. Chuya* trembled in fear, the black flag in the cloudy sky. The black flag silently flaps up high, out of reach of anyone to pull it down. Through my journey in photography, I will leave my mark in this world. The classical process scraped off and covered up things belonging to the subject matter, melting away the clarity and concreteness of photographs. What remained on the silver print paper is the afterimage of “Donten”. *Chuya Nakahara (1907-1937) Japanese poet
